Dengue

Dengue

Dengue fever is a viral illness caused by the bite of infected Aedes mosquitoes, commonly known as the “day-biting mosquito.” It is a significant health concern, especially in tropical and subtropical regions. At AMVI Clinic, we prioritize early diagnosis and effective management of dengue to ensure a swift recovery and prevent complications.

Signs and Symptoms of Dengue

Dengue symptoms typically appear 4–10 days after a mosquito bite and can range from mild to severe.

Common Symptoms:

  • High fever (104°F or higher).
  • Severe headaches.
  • Pain behind the eyes.
  • Muscle, joint, or bone pain (often called “breakbone fever”).
  • Nausea and vomiting.
  • Skin rashes.

Severe Symptoms (Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever):

  • Abdominal pain.
  • Persistent vomiting.
  • Bleeding gums or nose.
  • Blood in stool or urine.
  • Difficulty breathing.

How is Dengue Diagnosed?

At AMVI Clinic, we use advanced diagnostic methods to identify dengue early:

  • Complete Blood Count (CBC): To monitor platelet levels and white blood cells.
  • Dengue NS1 Antigen Test: Detects the virus in the early stages.
  • IgM and IgG Antibodies Test: Confirms dengue infection and its progression.
